Marina del Rey

•    Wake up in this quiet relaxing village to warm, soft breezes and sailboat rigging tinkling in the wind. Start your day late morning at any one of many waterfront restaurants known for their weekend brunches, including Jer-ne Restaurant, The Warehouse, Shanghai Red’s, or Cafe del Rey.

•    Walk along the harbor on Waterfront Promenade to take in the beautiful harbor scenery and million-dollar yachts, or, for an environmental educational excursion, explore the Ballona Wetlands on a free docent-led tour of one of the largest ecological preserves in Southern California.

•    Head to Fisherman’s Village and rent a powerboat or Jetski by the hour from Marina Boat Rentals, and ride out to the ocean. Head north for spectacular scenery from the sea of Venice Beach and Santa Monica Pier before heading back to port.

•    Want to leave the driving to someone else? Charter a sleek yacht and skipper and sail the waters of the Pacific in style with Paradise Bound Yacht Charters. Looking for more action? Take a ½-day or ¾-day fishing trip with Marina del Rey Sportfishing and try your hand a catching a ‘big one’.

•    There are many ways to get out on the water in Marina del Rey. Hornblower Cruises & Events offers a wide variety of cocktail, jazz, dinner/dance, and brunch cruises which depart from Fisherman’s Village.

•    Explore the intriguing Marina Peninsula area on foot to get a glimpse of a unique waterside residential neighborhood, with state-of-the-art architecture residences, intimate walking paths, and wetland ambiance.

•    A stop at beautiful Burton Chace Park will give you wonderful views of the harbor, surrounded on three sides by water, and is the location of free summer concerts and movies.

•    Walk from the Marina a short distance to the historic Venice Canals, a network of picturesque canals, beautiful residential gardens, and narrow, wooden pedestrian bridges within the tiny, cozy, residential beach community.

•    Then continue your walk to world-famous Venice Beach’s Ocean Front Walk where you’ll find non-stop free entertainment with colorful sidewalk vendors, street performers, and souvenir storefronts. This is the home of famous Muscle Beach, and a great place to people watch. A stop at one-of-a-kind boutiques and art galleries along eclectic Abbot Kinney Boulevard will help you find that special treasure to take home.

•    Enjoy special waterside sunsets and fresh seafood dinners on the open decks of Tony P’s Dockside Grill, The Charthouse, Waterfront Bar & Grill, The Waterfront Restaurant and Sapori, and after dinner take in a live concert at the Waterfront Concert Theater, or bask in the hip scene at Glow Bar, with its sparkling waterfall, firepits and heated floors.
